AB | Physics, Dartmouth University
Executive Summary
Dr. Doty received her A.B. in physics from Dartmouth College (1998) and her Ph.D. in physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara (2003), where she studied electronic properties of novel semiconductor devices at low temperatures (50 mK) and high magnetic fields (up to 18 T). Her current research focuses on women’s representation in the academic science and engineering workforce. At the University of Delaware, Dr. Doty teaches undergraduate courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and is faculty advisor to the department’s undergraduate peer mentoring initiative. Dr. Doty has a part-time appointment in the Office of the Provost, where she works to increase the participation and advancement of diverse faculty in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields at UD.
