Master of Engineering: Mechanical (MEM)
Earn an ADVANCED degree in just ONE YEAR or part-time while employed
The University of Delaware’s Master of Engineering: Mechanical (MEM) program trains leaders through exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration and cutting edge technology. Students can complete their master’s degree in one year with full-time matriculation. The MEM degree can also be completed on a part-time basis through coordination with engineering outreach. Our courses are offered at professionally convenient times on the Newark campus and/or in various distance learning formats.
Kiplinger's Personal Finance calls UD a top 25 best-value university, and Smart Money magazine ranks us 16th in the nation for graduates' earning power versus tuition — higher than every single Ivy League school.
Beyond required courses that form the foundation of mechanical engineering, students can specialize their degree by taking electives in signature departmental research areas including biomedical engineering, clean energy, composite materials, nanotechnology or robotics.
Based on specific interests, MEM students may also work directly with department faculty for focused research or possible industrial internships, up to three credits of independent study, to develop bold new technologies and solutions to contemporary problems. Learn how UD engineering students are implementing real-life solutions to business and industry problems through a focus on design and engineering practice, realistic industrial management structure and professionalism.
